hawkdriver Posted October 23, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2011 Anyone got a clue what this is? I know it's not a TL-122, but it has a brass body with metal caps. It is originally OD painted, has eveready in the TL circle. Civilian or early military?
14alpha Posted October 23, 2011 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2011 It's a TL-122-A flashlight. These were used by the military in WWII. Check out the link, it has a lot of information on them and it also shows that Eveready was a manufacturer of these. Hope this helped. http://www.paratrooper.be/articles/tl-122-flashlights/
hawkdriver Posted October 23, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted October 23, 2011 Thanks, first one I've seen that didn't have TL-122 on it.
Fixbayonets! Posted October 23, 2011 Share #4 Posted October 23, 2011 I once had the same flashlight, I was never able to figure out why it was marked Eveready on both sides. Rob

Rob That is why I asked the question, all that I have always had have had the TL-122 on at least one side. This one confused me, but guess they exist. As I say, never say never. robinb Posted October 23, 2011 Share #6 Posted October 23, 2011 Well, my take on it is that the TL-122-A was a Signal Corps item. If, let's say, the Medical Dept needed flashlights, they would procure them through the Med Dept procurement system. Thus no TL-122-A markings. hawkdriver Posted October 23, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted October 23, 2011 Makes sense to me, I would buy that for a dollar.
