A real odd looking mock up on Norman Fell (Sergeant Wadley) in the 1967 movie The Young Warriors, if you look closely that 3rd Division insignia on it looks to be a painted Cardboard Square glued on or whatever LOL.

Ken I believe that 1917A1 is totally a Hollywood Prop. Definitely not an original helmet.

Parachute Helmets on Martin and Lewis from the 1952 Movie Jumping Jacks, movie shot at Fort Benning, so helmets will be the real deal no doubt.

A M1917 Helmet . Sam Elliot's Sam Damon in the 1976 T.V. Miniseries Once an Eagle, the Great War segment, Shell maybe real but the liner system not so much as the chinstrap is not standard, got buckles on both upper sides of strap.

Wasn't aware the Krag Bayonet was compatible with the Springfield. Do you think it was legitimately issued out as a stopgap in the Army in the war, whether in the AEF and Stateside?
