kammo-man Posted October 18, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2011 Here is a Multi piece painted ARVN ERDL helmet. This is the standard type with an very fine style Tiger head to the front. This was created with a multi piece stencil that has been cut for the black , white and red shapes. It must also be noted that the Lime ERDL shapes is also a cut stencil. Every one I have ever seen follow this design in this format. A real ARVN painted helmet from the 67-69 time frame will follow is closely , I have seen several helmets painted almost by the same hand and they were always the same, so I have no problem posting this as if someone wants to copy this ........go ahead and try .....there is some VERY fine aspects of the whole picture I am leaving out. Enjoy Helmet collectors this 100% ARVN helmet from My collection. owen

kammo-man Posted October 18, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted October 18, 2011 The side showing genuine wear and tear , this cannot be faked to this extent. See the lime green ? The green and black were hand painted free form , as well as the black. Note the Red unit markings . Enjoy a REAL ARVN painted helmet boys. owen

kammo-man Posted October 18, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted October 18, 2011 Here it is in the War-room showing it on the other side. Note classic ERDL lime shape. This is similar to the famous Tim Page picture in his NAM book worn during TET.
kammo-man Posted October 18, 2011 Author Share #8 Posted October 18, 2011 Last one from me showing the helmet paint scheme from further away , the ERDL lime really pops . Worn with an Advisors uniform the whole impression is well rounded out . Thanks Doyler and Justin .
