Johan Willaert Posted October 12, 2011 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2011 I'm looking for more info about the 2675th Regt which was part of the Allied Control Commission in Italy at the end and right after WW2. Some googling revealed that the unit was involved in local aid and civilian-military co-operations but the amount of info was rather poor.... Does anyone have more??? Especially about the regiment? Thanks, Johan

ehrentitle Posted October 23, 2011 Share #3 Posted October 23, 2011 There was an episode of the US Public TV series History Detectives that aired in the Spring that mentions the 2675th in a story about a dagger that was supposed to have belonged to Mussolini. Here is the transcript: http://www-tc.pbs.org/opb/historydetective.../709_dagger.pdf

Navybean Posted February 3, 2023 Share #10 Posted February 3, 2023 Kind of interesting topic. I just picked up a bronze star grouping with a named bronze star medal and a New York Conspicuous Cross Medal. Both medals are named to an HSC Piper Sergent assigned to the 2675th Regiment. The NY Cross is named and number to Piper. Not really clear on what the what the 2675th did during the war.
