To be alone, to have your life in your own hands, to use your own skill, single-handed, against the enemy. It was like the lists of the Middle Ages, the only sphere in modern warfare where a man saw his adversary and faced him in mortal combat, the only sphere where there was still chivalry and honour. If you won, it was your own bravery and skill; if you lost, it was because you had met a better man

My clothes for daily use

The top shelf has some expensive collectible Marklin trains though, left-overs of a former hobby.

I'm just too sentimental to get rid of them crying.gif

Best regards

My "war" attic doesn't have a closet per se, but it does have an unfinished side. What's in it? Helmets, helmets, and more helmets...in every nook and cranny.

I'm always a sucker for a hard luck story. I can see it's pretty tough on you guys losing all that valuable space to all that junk, and if your married, I feel for you. Sooooo, if you want to box it up and send it my way for safe keeping I'd be happy to help you out. I might even be able to help with the postage if it's a problem. Just trying to be helpful. ;)

By the way...... That's a lot of very nice junk you guys have there. thumbsup.gif

Holy K-rist Ken! That's one huge pile of lids. thumbsup.gif

If I remember correctly, one of my old M1's is in there somewhere...I think you purchased one with a AN/PRR-9 helmet radio receiver from me about a year or so ago. Apologies if I'm mistaken. I do know that a couple of my old M1C straps are in there somewhere.

Again, very impressive!

A WORD OF ADVICE TO YOU GUYS WITH THE UNIFORMS----- get them off the wire hangers. put them on plastic or wood. if the wire hangers rust due to some moisture the jacket is marked for its life. thumbsup.gif
