This tool was made during WW II and probably issued to Air Raid Wardens. It has a nail puller, gas shut-off, manhole cover pry-bar, hammer and probably other uses. It is marked with the DC (Civil Defense insignia) on each side and "Peoria Malleable" probably the maker. I highlighted the lettering with chalk so it is easier to see.

Its a fire Dept Spanner wrench. Still in use today. It to take caps off, loosen and tighten hose connections, and turn off gas connections. Nice example with the CD markings

Glad you guys enjoyed seeing it.

LtRGFrank, I wouldn't be surprised if a fireman working with the CD during WW II designed it, thanks for the insight.

I have always thought the home front stuff very interesting since I bought my first CD gas mask for twenty five cents at an auction, in about 1974.
