Favorite EGA in YOUR Collection

Recommended Posts

Well fellow EGA enthusiasts, I'd like to know exactly what emblem in your collection is your all time favoritt addition thus far. So post a quick pic here, just for fun...

I don't have an extensive collection yet (working on it), but so far mine is this M26 Officer Service EGA with dual rollers, haven't seen two many with two screwposts, normally just the one. H&H marked, with two different patinas on the rollers due to depression aged metals being used. I know it's been posted before...

Tim... surprisied I missed this one and nobody had replied by now. That is a hard question, ask a parent to pick their favorite child for example crying.gif. Well, being a retired mustang my reply would likely not be surprising to most... of my favorites would be the trenched EGA's of the pre WW1 era.

This is my favorite EGA that SHOULD be in my collection but isn't because I foolishly sold it (and unlike some other ones I sold it wasn't like I got an offer I couldn't refuse). I just love the details, texture and patina on this one.

I believe Darrell's statement of picking ones favorite child also applies with me, so therefore, I'll pick this one. It might not be the prettiest emblem in my collection, but if this bird could talk, I'm guessing he could tell us stories about the poppy fields of June in Belleau Woods or carnage of Mont Blanc. He's beat up, dinged, caved in, coated in ugly brown paint, but still a handsome fellow in my eyes.

Here is my favorite. A hat device with a French coin dated 1904 as the washer. Found it in a antique store and paid $10.00 for it.

This is a nice one. I wish it were mine. :D But here's one which I believe is the same vintage....one of my very first ega's which I bought on ebay about ten years ago.

I thought I was the only one buying EGAs on E-bay 10 years ago! How did I miss this one? I own a very similar one. It almost appears that the paint was purposefully worn off the continents for a more striking appearance.
