Brian Keith Posted November 17, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2007 We have a large naval signal flag brought back by a Naval Officer who served in WW II in the Pacific and on Occupation Duties in Tokyo, Japan. It is just over eight feet high (99 inches) by thirteen feet on the fly (156 inches). I’m not sure which is the top but it is five colors, in bands. Four bands are 12 inches high and one band is four feet high. The colors in this order are red, blue, white, black, and the four foot band is yellow. It is constructed of heavy wool with a rope sewn into the end with it looped over for hanging eyelets, there are no metal snaps or grommets. It is possible it is Japanese, there is nothing printed on it. Any help is appreciated. TIA BKW
