I recently purchased a stainless steel military beverage jug at an estate sale. The jug is marked "Jug, Vacuum, 3 Gal., W/Spigot". It is also marked: DSA-4-041800-TR527. It was made by the Vacuum Can Company (Aervoid). Using the stock number, can anyone tell me when this jug dates from? Were these used in mess halls or the field as well? Pictures to come.
