36-tex Posted September 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2011 Anyone know what this is? I am thinking maybe an r.o.t.c. type course patch.

gwb123 Posted September 29, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 29, 2011 The stripes suggest an NCO training course, probably for a specific division or reserve area. ROTC is officer training, and normally would not use stripes as part of the design.
Linedoggie Posted September 29, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 29, 2011 Back in the day 1970's up to mid 80's states ran their own PNCOC, BNCOC, ANCOC courses (Pre PLDC era, the courses were seperated by MOS-Combat Arms in PNCOC, support in BNCOC)and some had insignia. NY state for instance has ESMA (Empire State Military Academy) and the patch was shaped like chevrons. graduates could wear it on their right pocket of fatigues and BDU/ERDL's like the Jungle expert patch. there was a Metal badge for class A's. wear was banned around 1988 when all local patches and foreign wings were banned from BDU's IIRC. My W.A.G. is an NCO leadership course.
