Homefrontguy Posted November 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2007 Since I have seen several posts on rationing as well as the great Virtual Exhibit, I thought I would post this children's game from the war. Its a traditional sized board game that allows kids to play the role of the local ration board and ration items on the Home Front. Its the only known toy related to rationing in the US. The box is labaled Fun You Can Hoard, a nice slogan using a variation of the incentive to not hoard consumer goods but I can honestly say from the directions it doesn't look like that much fun even considering these kids are living with shortages that even impacted the toys they played with and there was no TV or video games. disneydave Posted November 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2007 Interesting item...sort of like the American Mickey Mouse gas mask and the British Mickey Mouse gas mask canister - they tried to bring a little levity to a serious situation.
