Teamski Posted August 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2011 I think these are original, but another person believes they are repro. Can anybody give me a good opinion of them? Thanks for your help! -Ski

craig_pickrall Posted August 16, 2011 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2011 If the field material is blue felt then it should be very soft and flexible.
Teamski Posted August 16, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted August 16, 2011 It is black felt and the patch looks and feels like other era stripes. Thanks for the link. -Ski

Sabrejet Posted August 16, 2011 Share #6 Posted August 16, 2011 Eric...your look just like mine which are actually on a WW2 four-pocket service coat. I've had it almost 20 years and have no reason to doubt their authenticity. Ian

36-tex Posted August 18, 2011 Share #9 Posted August 18, 2011 Teamski, I was just reading the July-September 2000 Trading Post. Sure enough there was a couple comments about this type of chevron. This "rank" was called a 6th and 6th. This style was "unofficial", but were worn in the 1930's up to the early 1940's. They are also found with the medical design in place of the winged prop.
