VMB-614 WW2 Patch

Watched this thru auction period on ebay - finally sold at $406 on 8.6.2011

 

After a bit of search, I think it is attributed to VMB-614, but not sure of either unit or it orginating from the WW2 period?

 

Any thoughts?

A similar version of this patch is in the Jeff Milstien WW-2 USMC patch book , they were a WW-2 unit Flying the Navy version of the B-25(PBJ) in the book version the bomb is falling behind the wings near the tail and the "dice" and title are not carried .

If you don't mind me answering, the book is U.S. Marine Corps Aviation Unit Insignia 1941-1946.

Thanks "Ski" that's the title , the book can be found on Amazon I'm sure or from any good book store .
