V1 and V2 Intelligence

Hi all,

 

Im trying to find out which branch of service did investigations on crashed V1 and V2 sites?

 

Not sure if Im asking in the right place or not.

 

Any help appreciated.

That could have been any number of branches of the US Army...

 

I could see the AAF Tech Intelligence taking the lead, but you probably also had Ordnance/ EOD and Corps of Engineers... maybe even Signal Corps.

 

The Army Air Force would have wanted to know how they flew and how they were guided, EOD would want to know about the explosives on board and how to disarm them, the Corps of Engineers would want to assess bomb damage and how to build structures to withstand a hit, and Signal Corps would also be interested in control systems.
