craig_pickrall Posted November 5, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2007 This is a Blackout Bulb from the WW2 era. It still works. It has the standard size base and is about the same size as a current 60W bulb but of course it is a different shape.
ww2vault Posted November 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 6, 2007 Cool stuff Criag. I was bidding on a black out bulb on Ebay a while back. It was shaped more like a flood light and had a black tint over the front bulb to darken it, it also had like a hood that went over the front and top to stop and light from heading up towards the sky. - Jeff
Homefrontguy Posted November 11, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 11, 2007 Blackout items are great. Here is a kit that came in a board game sized box with glow in the dark material and a booklet with instructions on how to use the material for safety and to entertain kids in a Blackout. A good deal of the material is pre cut in various shapes to fit household needs. Jim
