just wanted to add a recent pickup to this timeless thread.

 

Nice souvenir shot at the Glen Island Casino in New York.  It depicts a nice, enlisted aircrew wearing what looks to be gunner wings.  Also depicts his pretty companion.  I like this image; I just wish the beer bottle label was facing the camera. cheers!

Will add a WW II era one from my collection.

 

A Colombian Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Colombiana) officer named "Alfred" with his wife? "Mrs. Malen" aka "Smokey" and a young woman at the Windsor Room, 10 March 1946. The closeup shows he was wearing three wing badges: U.S. Army Air Forces pilot (2-inch), Columbian Air Force pilot and U.S. Naval Aviator, Also, looks like two stars on each of his shoulder loops. The well used beer tray behind his head reads VALLEY FORGE BEER, brewed in Norristown near Philadelphia, so perhaps the photo was taken near there. The U.S. provided Columbia with aircraft and training during and after World War II. Looks like Alfred really enjoyed his time in the U.S.

Another one from the World War I era.

 

A snapshot of Ensign Fred Harrison Gage and two lady friends taken during the World War I era. The woman on his right arm was wearing a Naval Aviator wing badge on the front of her dress. Gage was designated Naval Aviator 265 at Pensacola, FL and commissioned an ensign on 21 January 1918. He served as the officer in command of the ground school at Naval Air Station San Diego during World War I. He also served as the senior squadron commander and executive officer at Naval Air Station Coco Solo, Canal Zone, and the commanding officer of VT-31 and VN-8 squadrons. He retired as a lieutenant commander on 1 September 1936 but later served in World War II and the Korean War.
