GMPETE Posted July 28, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2011 I need help identifying these two 1st Mar. Div. variants. I know very little about the various types and would like opinions on these as to date and manufacture. *Both garments belonged to the same veteran, and are 'out of the woodwork'. *Left is a 1942 dated Aussie Ike/Vandegrift. *Right is a class A dated September 1942. Thanks for any assistance.

GMPETE Posted July 28, 2011 Author Share #7 Posted July 28, 2011 Thanks guys. I figured as much. Does anyone have an idea when the U.S. made patches started to arrive in the S. Pacific? As I mentioned both the Australian 'Vandegrift', and the class A are dated '42. This fellow was in the 5th Marines.
