Hirsca,

I have several versions of this pin; I believe it is a pin that veterans wore after discharge to show the amount of time they served overseas with each chevron representing 6 months with the AEF.

Yep, a souvenier pin...I've seen these with 1, 2, and 3 chevrons...often incorrectly attributed to the person as their rank...

Agree with the others. I've occasionally seen them being worn on the soldiers overseas cap in probably their final in-uniform photo.
