ronl Posted October 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2007 Picked up this group of hats today. HBT hat dated Nov.27, 1943. Cannot recall the military designation for the winter hat at right, but it is mint as is the HBT. Someone please help me with that. The M1951 is in very good condition. I paid $15 for the lot. The man also has some WW2 dogtags and blankets that I'm going to pick up in a few days.
doyler Posted October 30, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2007 I believe in the WW2 officers guide it is reffered to the cap, winter.Material is an olive drab duck authorized for Northern climates.I have heard it referred to as a Transport Drivers cap also.I have seen it worn with a M41 Artic field jacket too.The jacket is the one that is 3/4 length that is blanket lined and has the pull style take up tabs for adjustment.
