Hey , thanks much for the Great extra photo of it being painted by an artist !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus the "Motto" saying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking along the line of a Bomber Training unit , possibly stateside , man I hope someone can come up with an ID to this one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again for the posting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just resurfacing to see if anyone can ID the Bugs Bunny characterization.

After you told me of what the wording says, I'm leaning towards a Repair/Modification Depot Squadron, they usually made changes and modifications to aircraft coming through them, hence "Bugs" saying "Any Changes Today Doc" , they would do gun arrangements, mods to the interiors etc etc , I sure hope someone can come up with this one !

Thanks Johnny, that would make sense. Some of his early paperwork is engineer testing related. I wish I could determine when he went to the pacific and how long he spent with the Apaches.

I think if you put in your search bar the title 345th Air Apaches you should get a current reunion web page , I'm sure they have one , give it a try and tell them what you have , they usually have a unit historian that should be able to help with his ops etc !

Checked Hickey's book "Warpath Across the Pacific" and the post-WWII unit history "Warpath" and he is not listed in either-don't mean to be a buzz-kill, Mark

Thanks Mark,

Not a buzz-kill at all. I'm going to send for all his information so we won't have to guess.

Great grouping! So rare to see complete combat uniforms.

Also love the patch. Maybe not PC in today's world where people protest logos at Braves and Indians games, but I have some Cherokee heritage so hopefully I can like it without offending anyone! Certainly don't mean to.

Hey , it's a Great looking emblem, and beside the Indians were the "true" first Americans, the rest of us "white" people came over on boats form another country .

They carried the emblem on the tails of thier unit B-25 's proudly and wore the patch the same way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
