I picked up this very complete grouping this past winter of flight engineer Sgt. William Ellerington who entered the service in March of 1942. It is by far the most complete grouping in my collection. It includes all of his name strip ID'd uniforms including his complete shearling group which has his name strip on his B-6 helmet, B-3 Jacket, and both a-6 boots. Also included is his A-4 flight suit and B-1 cap, and his ike, hat, shirts/pants. The really nice aspect is that there are pictures of him wearing all of these uniforms. There is also literally 5 pounds of paperwork from qualification certificates to engineering education material, to ticket stubs. His A-2 jacket was not with the group but a jacket removed Air Apaches patch is. I have a lead on where his A-2 might be but have not secured it yet. His medals, dog tags, pretty much everything. Hope you enjoy it.

Not sure on the Indian head, but I meant the patch on the Ike, my bad!

No, that was my bad, you did say the 5th patch. I don't think it is anything unique.

Hey , do you have anything about what the "Bugs Bunny" emblem is in the photos with the men, What does it say "My Bombs """""""""""", they look to be wearing the same patch on thier jackets too, very much interested to find out what it is please if you can tell me , thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johnny

P.S. your "Air Apaches" looks to be authentic, there were two versions I know of , the one you have an dthe other had "Claws" where the motto is in the form of a necklace.

Thanks to all who have commented. It would be nice if we could preserve all our veterans histories as completely as this one. Johnny, It actually says " Any Changes Today Doc?". I tried to research the characterization/patch but could not find anything. I forgot I also had a close-up of the man painting it. He looks to be wearing an A2. If anyone has information on this unit, please let us know. Thanks.
