ikar Posted July 1, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted July 1, 2011 They were taken just after we started to transition form the 106. They went down to Mt. Rushmore where it was green. These were taken in May I think. Doesn't North Dakota look so inviting? I have them in a frame with the patches between them. I did a lot of work on those markings. m1ashooter Posted July 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 1, 2011 I think we were at Minot at the same time. I remember all the money spent on the conversion and then the deactivation almost at the same time. When the F106's used to kick in the afterburner it would rattle by front door. Its very sad that Minot is flooding. Why Not Minot?
ikar Posted July 1, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted July 1, 2011 Freezings the reason. By that time I was out of teh Polie and in operations. I remember when I was working on the markings we would use on the F-15s Col. Coe took me to a building where they were laying out the projected design on the floor and then we went over to the ammo area where I saw a lot of gun pods for the F-106s. We had more pods than we did aircraft. I took those shots from my office window.
