Please show us your Fake tiger stripes uniforms

Recommended Posts

This is the 1987th Tigerstripe Products with the cotton twill fabric. Last run before ripstop fabric came out.

Within this time frame:

First run are flat buttons.

Second run are bdu buttons.

On the photos you see replaced buttons, non typical TSP issued buttons.

It may be good .

I have seen pockets like this before but 4 pocket type .

show the seams please .

owen

I have this exact jacket with the camo BDU buttons. My pockets on the jacket are off somewhat and have been removed and re applied in factory. My pockets angle the ( or did ) the other way so its lower at the armpit. The cloth is light and very thin and you look at it and you can see it tear or rot like magic ! I use to wear mine a lot but the quality isn't what you'd expect for TSP.

Kammon-man, you want the seam of which part, pockets ? interior ?

so a friend think also that's a copy, all your words confirm.

This is your jacket

Angled pockets , mine factory fault and start low from the armpits.

Interior , nice deep soaked in colors that gives the interior a green and black tint.

The printing fault , the "hooked" shape. This features on 1 panel of every TSP garment which I believe is to indicate reproduction. My hooked shape is located same side as yours , just under the pocket.

Here you can see the same shapes but " un hooked " like how they appear on real tigers.

Lastly the tag.

Is that the one with the join running though the print which makes for a very funny print ?

Jupp, thats it.

TDS/silver pattern mix up with JWD/Classic pattern.

Both shirt are Tigerstripe Products to compare:

left side: TSP version 2 with the mix up JWD print

right side: TSP version 1 with correct JWD print

Mitch

You Vet got his story mixed up a bit .

The shirt you posted is a common US made hunting type that was sold in army surplus shops in the late 1970s -80s .

Lets see the rest of his goodies .

I got a set of the new Moore Militaria Gold tiger repro. any of you other guys get any ?

I always get size Medium regular. and it has room to spare, but for some reason the golds are a tiny but snug, I could use another maybe two inches. but no one else has noticed the gold tigers being a little more snug then his silver tigers I am curious to hear from other about the fit

having them fit a little snug is actually a more accurate fit for the period.

These are my Tiger Stripe products. The greens and browns seem off.

large.jpg

Also, found this at a local thrift shop:

Is this a local made tiger stripe or repro?

weird "chicken inspector" badge

too bad the sleeves were cut off.
no tags no markings

My best guess is a thai tiger pattern? what do you all think?
