I didn't notice at first, but when I went to unzip the pouch, the compass was jammed against the zipper and caused me all kinds of grief getting it open. I then compared it to my other zipper pouch, and found that it was 1/2" taller, making it a lot easier to open. So I guess there is an early version and a late version of the zipper pouch.
