The Jacket is a late World War II Ike Jacket with a Pacific Ocean Areas shoulder patch. The bars on the lower left sleeve are 6 month overseas stripes that equal 18 months, the patch on the lower right sleeve is a unit citation patch. The patch on the upper right chest is a discharge patch that indicates the person has been discharged from the military. It appears to be missing the collar tabs. The right collar would be a US and the left would indicate whether he was Infantry, aviation, engineers, etc.

Oh yea. He was a corporal.
