korea drab Posted October 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2007 Where the buttons on the M-43 and M-51 the same? in colors and diameters? I have seen lot of pictures with diferent tones on one single jacket. But as i do not have yet eather of one to compare need to ask this. I plan to buy a lot of M-43 buttons . Could i use those also on my M 1951 too? I searched the reference part but could´nt find more about my question. Thanks KH
Greg Robinson Posted October 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2007 The early production M1943's had a thin light weight button but those were upgraded starting in 1944. Color shades did tend to vary on wartime jackets but the shape and size remained constant through late WW2, with the M1950, and with the M1951's until the early '60's when the buttons seen on M65 field jackets were adopted.
