IVY Posted July 8, 2011 Author Share #27 Posted July 8, 2011 Finaly we feel the lcvp touch the sand ... Slowly the door is opening ! It's an unique vision for us ! But a bad wave sent the craft on the side we have to do it one more time . the next landing the door is open , we don't know how deep is the water .... and Phillipe jump first with the water under his arms ....GOOOO ! willysmb44 Posted July 9, 2011 Share #34 Posted July 9, 2011 I have been re-enacting WW2 since 1989 and have been to events all over. I can say without a doubt that this is the most amazing set of events photos I’ve ever seen. I definitely would have flown to France if I could have been assured a place on that boat (although having jumped from several landing craft in the past, I would not have been the first off the ramp). These people are to be highly commended for their fantastic effort!
gpw_42 Posted July 9, 2011 Share #35 Posted July 9, 2011 Great job, and tremendous pics! What were the key lessons you learned from this experience, regarding what the GIs went through during the war? Thanks, Steve
