Fly USMC Posted June 4, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2011 This large patch is 1 of 19 originals made for wear by crewchiefs on the back of their flight jackets circa mid 1960s. Some of the same crewchiefs, some 40 years later had smaller patches made up and gave them to current era crewchiefs / Aircrew. Note the gear worn by the early Vietnam war era grunt and the current MARPAT grunt. This is in my top 5 patches of favorite patches in my collection.
