A RARE catch

I managed to snag a rare 4239th AEMS, a patch I have never seen in any collection, even USAFPatches.com, the old SACPatches.com or any site. Proof too that there are still many great patches to be had. I realize there is a bias towards maintenance, but bottom line is that maintainers are a vital part of all military operations, not the vital part, but a force that rarely gets the "glory" of the fighter pilots, tank commanders and ship captains. The 91st Missile Maintenance Squadron although not rare, is not common either. And as a former maintainer, I can testify to the guts and gile the men and women of the maintenance units displayed to keep our aircraft combat ready. This 4239th patch is in its own right just as valuble as any FIS or Bomb unit.

Thanks Randy. I don't want to take anything away from pilots, my Uncle was a LTC in both the Army Air Corps and the USAF, but like you can attest to, working in brutal weather conditions, foreign countries and all the rules and regulations, we maintainers endured a great deal.
