Hi Members & Friends.

Here is a French postcard that recently came into my possesion and I thought I would share with fellow forum members to see if any further information can be offered about the image.

The only information is that shown on the lower front of the card, the rear has no information at all.

thanks ken

Bonjour Ken. That's quite unlike the other "French post-cards" you have in your collection!!;) This might seem an obvious thing to point out but it might confuse some non French speakers...i.e. that "Marine" in this context means "Navy"....not USMC. Great photo. The Arc de Triomphe / Champs Elysees always make a dramatic backdrop for a military parade. Interesting to note that the bandsmen are wearing rifle belts. The way they look with these and their leggings etc. was pretty much unchanged over 20 years later during WW2.

Ian

I don't know how I missed this thread. Great postcards! It is very interesting that two of you have a different postcard from the same day and march.

It looks like the archway is the same one in both pictures but taken from different angles. Do you think so too?

Thanks for sharing these!

....Kat
