I recently won this off of EBAY. 170638178908 helmet and field gear collection. Did I pay too much? Was the pea color as stated in the listing correct for a KOREAN WAR helmet shell?

$135 is not a bad price for everything...if you feel comfortable with it, then it's good.

This kind of helmet shell with the OD clips is up for debate. Yes, they were created in 1951. Has anyone ever found a photo of them worn in Korea between 51 and 53? Not yet. The liner looks great as does the rest of the field gear.

the OD steel clip to bail has been in use from 1951 - 1960

thats no guarantee the helmet straps were added in 1951, it could have been 1960 or even later or when the original straps needed replacement

and the paint texture looks like original WWII cork texture to me

$135 seems kind of high but I do notice the prices on militaria have been going up lately?

Airborne-Hunter

If it came with all the gear in the pictures; including the garand belt, then I would say it was a very good deal. It looks to either be a complete or near complete set for $135; very good price in my book. Best ABN
