QED4 Posted October 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 13, 2007 According to Shelby Stanton in US Army Uniforms of the Cold War the officer's Taupe Shade 49 Overcoat was introduced 22 Jun 1949 and was required by 18 Feb 1953. It was replaced some time in the late 1960s. All officer's uniforms are private purchase, only enlistedmen have their uniforms issued to them.
