48MMS Posted May 8, 2011 #1 Posted May 8, 2011 Hello, had a very interesting time at the Pomona show, due to medical complications, I lost Consciousness and required the need of the EMT on duty. I also was assisted by some Army reservists all of whom will be in my thoughts forever. Great men along with the others, security and the staff who saved the day! I will be off to the doctors ASAP. Did find this 100th Air Refueling Squadron for $15. I had very limited funds, but had a pretty good if not eventful time.
Teamski Posted May 8, 2011 #2 Posted May 8, 2011 Well, I hope all is ok! That is not the way to spend your time off, you know! At least you got a nice patch in the end. -Ski
gwb123 Posted May 8, 2011 #3 Posted May 8, 2011 Hope you are better! I am sure it was quite frustrating to have gotten to the show and then have that happen!
48MMS Posted May 8, 2011 Author #4 Posted May 8, 2011 Thank you both. I will be interested to see what the doctor says. I also found this for $5, a 4", 4042nd Organizational Maintenance Squadron, K.I. Sawyer AFB. Pretty exciting for the maintenance collector, and that I for one have seen nothing else from the 4042nd Strategic Wing, not even a scan or artwork.
Jack's Son Posted May 8, 2011 #5 Posted May 8, 2011 Never a dull moment at one of Bob's productions!!! Keep us posted on your recovery!
doyler Posted May 8, 2011 #6 Posted May 8, 2011 48MMS Nice finds.I have heard Bobs show is a good one but to pass out says it all!!! Seriously I really hope you are feeling better and your check up at the doctors goes well.ekeep us informed. Best Wishes RD
Bob Hudson Posted May 8, 2011 #7 Posted May 8, 2011 My son and I were talking with Larry Stone over in that corner and saw the medics huddled over someone: glad to see you were able to walk away from it.
48MMS Posted May 8, 2011 Author #8 Posted May 8, 2011 Thank you all. It was in my opinion the best show I have been to, and I really am grateful to all who helped. When I think back to the particulars, it was a "eye" opening experience. I will be devoting much more time to diet and exercise. I feel my current weight and diet was of no help and factored against me. Lucky this time. . . . Thank you for your concern, it is greatly appreciated.
Johnny Signor Posted May 8, 2011 #9 Posted May 8, 2011 Hey 48 MMS , you're in my prayers for whatever happened , Hoping all will check out O.K. for you and your Doctor will not find anything too serious, I have been having some heart problems myself and am on a BP med that seems to be doing a pretty good job, it has some side effects of upset stomach etc , but what meds don't now days , anyway , take care and good to hear you talk about taking care of your weight and diet , a key factor , also check into vitamin supplements they help a lot too ! Take care and God Bless you ! Johnny
48MMS Posted May 8, 2011 Author #10 Posted May 8, 2011 Thanks Johnny, I will let you know what the doctor says. Take care, Al
67Rally Posted May 8, 2011 #11 Posted May 8, 2011 I will be devoting much more time to diet and exercise. I feel my current weight and diet was of no help and factored against me. Lucky this time. . . . 48MMS, I came to this realization last year. After gaining so much weight in the years following my separation from the Navy, I decided that enough was enough. I didn't want diabetes or heart problems. My back was killing me. I couldn't do anything anymore. So, with the help of the VA and a fantastic spinal care physician, I got my back pain (from an active duty injury) under control and began a slow-steady change to my current state of fitness. I was a 6-4, 365lb blob at the end of April 2010. Today, I am at 196lbs, only 16lbs away from my goal weight. I am no longer obese (not even overweight) and I am preparing for the Seattle to Portland bicycle classic. My BP is rock solid and I am in the best shape in 25 years! If I can do this...anyone can!
48MMS Posted May 8, 2011 Author #12 Posted May 8, 2011 I agree with you 67Rally! I do not want to temp fate anymore. I feel no matter what I later find out, that yesterday was a horrifying experience and I can't rely on medication alone. Scary part was that I had my grandson with me and had almost chose to go see Malibu (he wanted to see it) first. That would have put me on the freeway when all this happened. Don't care to think what might have happened then. Working 60+ hours a week doesn't help either. Thanks for the testimonal, I will use it to drive myself to a healthier individual. P.S. great job on the weight loss. I am at 210 and my goal is 170. That road starts today!

TLHorstead Posted May 8, 2011 #14 Posted May 8, 2011 Hope you are better! I am sure it was quite frustrating to have gotten to the show and then have that happen! Al, thanks for posting, there is a slight change between the 410th and the 4042d OMS on the 410th the mullets (stars) are white. Terry L Horstead
48MMS Posted May 12, 2011 Author #15 Posted May 12, 2011 I want to thank all the well wishers again. Your concern is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. My test results came back negative. I can write this off to an isolated incident, but will continue on my diet and weight loss regiment. Cheers, Al
Jack's Son Posted May 12, 2011 #16 Posted May 12, 2011 Al, That's good to hear .........but keep us informed on your weight goals and achievements!!
gparlin Posted May 12, 2011 #17 Posted May 12, 2011 That is great news. I was at the show when you went down but was not aware of it at the time. I'm really pleased to hear that you are OK. Good luck on your new program. Gregg
