What is it? I'm at a loss......

I'm hoping that someone can help me identify a piece from my collection. I picked this piece up from the owner of one of the surplus shops I frequent around one of the bases. He gave it to me, as he was not sure what it was. At first I thought it may have been a Chaplains stole, but the fleur-de-lis symbol is not something associated with the the clergy. I thought maybe Boy Scouts, but there was nothing else in the store remotely even related to the Boy Scouts.

I am at a loss as to identify the item. Is it military? Is it Boy Scout? Is it a unit item? Is it a fancy dust rag? I'm hoping someone can tell me.

The piece is probably 6'5" long and is stitched all the way around the edges. The color is an off tan. It appears to have been used as there are various stains on the piece. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

p.s. I was unsure where to put this item, so if it needs to be moved to another section....feel free to do so!

Close up of the fleur-de-lis. Interestingly enough, the 2nd Armored Cav Regiment (2nd Stryker Cav Regiment now) has the fleur-de-lis in their patch. This came from a base where Cav items are very common.

It's a communal kerchief for a Boy Scout troop.

With all those stains....wouldn't suprise me at all!:lol:

I would say it is a decorative item for someone's home. It sure looks like a table runner to me! :ermm:

Very possibly could be. Very plain-jane for a decorative item though.

The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of the City of Louisville, KY.

Along with about every other city with French roots.
