chcole1 Posted April 20, 2011 #1 Posted April 20, 2011 Curious if anyone has seen this one before? I'm not very familiar with Squadron patches but I have noticed a lot of them use playing cards. Does anyone know what this is? Chris
Johnny Signor Posted April 21, 2011 #2 Posted April 21, 2011 Looks like an "older " version " possibly WW-2 of the 77th Fighter Squadron, the "latter" version had a round red background the cards were placed inside of . Johnny
Mark1 Posted April 21, 2011 #3 Posted April 21, 2011 On the 77th patches the cards are from top to bottom: 7 of spades 7 of hearts Ace of spades 7 of diamonds 7 of clubs So I do not thick it belongs to the 77th Mark
mortaydc60 Posted April 21, 2011 #4 Posted April 21, 2011 Believe it or not, it is not Air Force but Army. The patch is for the 152nd Eng. Depending upon which ace is first will tell which company the person belongs to such as coA or coB. Saw action in Pacific during WW2 and I believe Korea war also. Have some nixe theatre made versions in my collection. Great patch! Mort
Johnny Signor Posted April 21, 2011 #5 Posted April 21, 2011 Well good , we got a "correct" ID , I only "suggested " the 77th FS as it was what it reminded me of , I didn't check closely with my refference images , always good to have more than one set of "eyes" looking the patches over ! Good call ! johnny
Teamski Posted April 21, 2011 #6 Posted April 21, 2011 That's where I saw this patch! Now I remember it being in the Trading Post at one point. -Ski
chcole1 Posted April 21, 2011 Author #7 Posted April 21, 2011 That's great! I had a feeling it was something. Picked it up as part of a junk drawer lot with some EGAs and other pins. I'll post better pics after it arrives. Thanks guys. This forum is outstanding. Chris
