Hello All,

the well known group, the Second Armored In Europe ( www.2ndarmoredineurope.com ) is planning an event in the Czech republic next May of 2008 and is offering those who wish to do so and who meet the uniform and physical requirements for the trip a chance to participate.

The trip will consist of a week long re-enactment following the route of the 25th Cvalry Recon Squadron of teh Fourth Armored Division, 200 miles from the German border through Pisek to the Vlatva river, the furtherst Eastern point reached by the US Army in WW2. This is a real time event doing the right unit in the right place at the right time.

It is the plan at present to take 2 recon platoons, comprising of 6 M8 armored cars and 12 recon jeeps, plus an armored Infantry platoon of 5 half-tracks, we also have an L4 plane with us for the week, this is a hard core event comprising of sleeping , eating and living out of your vehicle camped outdoors for the entire week. There are no hotels and flushing toilets on this trip.

We get many Americans flying over to attend our events, up to 30 men on the bigger trips and many have come across several times

This is obviously just a brief outline of the event here, spaces are limited and things are on a first come, first served basis, taking armor 1400 miles across Europe is not cheap, every participant pays an equal share and the cost will be in the region of $ 700 per man.

If you are interested in the possibility of attending and would like to be placed on the mailing list for further details, you need to contact me ASAP by email leaving your contact details to [email protected]

Jon
