Der Finn Posted April 6, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2011 Any help identifying these squadron patches is greatly appreciated. The leather patch is still on the A-2 and is thought to be from a B-25 outfit in North Africa/Italy. The cloth patch with the Latin motto was picked up today; roughly translated to be "The night is my helper". Korean War? Vietnam? Thanks in advance! TBMflyer Posted April 6, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2011 Hi, the cat patch is for VC-4 or VF(AW)-4 not quite sure which period your patch is from but probably from the Korean War era. VC-4 was an East Coast Night Fighter squadron that flew F4U-5N's in detachments from Atlantic based carriers. Great patches, hope this helps, Mark
