MWalsh Posted September 30, 2007 #1 Posted September 30, 2007 OK folks, I have a mystery I am trying to solve here in terms of what two unit abbreviations mean. The two abbreviations are: AAFWCTC and 314th TEFT Just as a reference point, they are units listed on the accident report I obtained for a 2nd Lieutenant who was killed in an AT-6 aircraft training crash at Roswell Army Airfield in New Mexico in mid 1944. The base he was killed at was, as I understand it, primarily a B-17 pilot instruction field. I have some of this man's things and I want to do a small display and write up with them, but need to know what those units stand for so I can properly write it up. So... anyone that knows what those two unit designations are? Thanks! Mike
Andrei Posted September 30, 2007 #2 Posted September 30, 2007 Army Air Force West Coast Air Corps Training Center
Andrei Posted September 30, 2007 #3 Posted September 30, 2007 TEFT must be a training unit but I cant figure out what it stands for. Hope it helps. Andrei
MWalsh Posted September 30, 2007 Author #5 Posted September 30, 2007 Thanks much! I got a couple responses on the Whermacht Forum too, that AAFWCTC is Army Air Forces West Coast Training Center and the TEFT is Twin Engine Flight Training. Thanks for your help on this gents! Mike
