My WWII Footlocker

Recommended Posts

I have 2 empty footlockers both WWII era got one for $25 and the other for $30.

Well, my Texas buddy, let me know the next time you run across one of those easy deals. I`ve been searching for 2 months on CL and elsewhere. Maybe at Mullins next weekend.

These are some sweet displays. I can't get enough if them.

The best way to display the small items!

I collect items from The Battle of Iwo Jima (1945).

Top Iwo Jima Items I'm Looking For:

1) IDed 5th MarDiv Corpsman Jumper or Forest Green Coat.

2) IDed Coast Guard Navy Jumper

3) IDed CB's Sea Bee's Navy Jumper

4) IDed 147th Infantry Regiment Army Service Coat

5) IDed 32nd ID Army Service Coat (Occupation Kyushu with 5th MarDiv).

I am always looking for named and dated WWII USMC Forest Green wool alpha jackets/coats from the 5th Marine Division or other units who participated in the battle.

Great job on the build. I`ve been tempted to build one myself. I have a `62 vintage locker that is identical to the ww2 ones thatI have repainted the outside of to a more respectable ww2 color and then cut out my own stencil. I hate to repaint the inside and cover the orginal `62 stamps, though. I`m just about ready to show the top tray, I just lack a good ww2 soap dish and some pin ups. You wouldn`t happen to know a source for a good plastic soap dish? I keep watchin Ebay but " no soap" yet.

Thanks these are the specs my grandpa used if you want to give ita shot: http://www.hardscrab...ocker_crate.pdf

As for soap dishes did you see this? http://www.ebay.com/...=item2ec735c52d

And I found the easiest way to get pin-ups is to buy an old beat up cheap YANK magazine and tear out the pin-up so she can be seen ;)
