evets Posted February 17, 2015 Share #51 Posted February 17, 2015 as with most of my posts, many years late on this one: http://research.archives.gov/description/531244
iaustin Posted October 28, 2019 Share #52 Posted October 28, 2019 May have missed the details on this but my jungle pack (Des Moines Glove, 1942) has different detail to those shown in the photographs in this thread. As can be seen in the photo the 1in straps which are sewn at an angle on the front part of the shoulder straps are longer and plain with a metal tip with separate cast alloy buckles and spring clips, ie the same arrangement as the shoulder strap ends, instead of the fixed hinge style buckle as found on the musette bag and M1928 pack. Appears to be original to the pack. Is this a manufacturing variation? The photo shows the strap details (pack is laid out on top of a reproduction M1943 which has the hinge style buckles, for comparison).
nicolas75 Posted August 27, 2021 Share #53 Posted August 27, 2021 Hello to all, I frequently see Jungle pack (m'y question concern only the small Real Jungle model. Not the 1943 pack ...) dated only in 1942. Was production only limited to this year ? Thanks
