roadwayguy Posted June 15, 2016 #30 Posted June 15, 2016 I know this is an old post, but I just discovered it as I was researching a WWI LTA Naval Aviator uniform I just purchased. Your information in this post is the most helpful I've found so far after several hours of research for airships of that era. This is named to Ensign John W. Kellar, of Lee Massachusetts, Naval Aviator #2148. I've verified he was at MIT in July, 1918 when he announced he was joining the service. I'd like to learn more about him, his service, and the appropriate pieces to add to the uniform, which looks pretty much like the one in your photo. Appreciate any insight you can offer on where I should go from here.
cgreely Posted August 27, 2016 #31 Posted August 27, 2016 Am looking to connect with member belleauwood. he posted a story on the net on Aug 24 2008 regarding the Northern Bombing Group in WW1. Specifically the story and photos were about my Grandfather Benjamin M. Greely (Ensign). i remember seeing my Grandfathers uniform as a kid, and knew he had given it to a museum many years ago, but never knew where that was. i would very much like to know as much as possible about where this member found the story about him, and where my Grandfather's uniform ended up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris Greely
