USMCRECON Posted September 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2007 I've had this for about 15 years. Since, as I received it, it's in post WW-II trim, I haven't had a lot of interest in it. I noticed the other day when I was going through some uniforms in wardrobe boxess in the storage locker and decided to bring it home and photograph it. There is a tailor's tag sewn on the inside but no name tag. There's a manufacturer's tag inside the lower right outside pocket with contract and "made" dates - it was made in 1944. However, the ribbons certainly indicate it was worn in the post-war era as does the Infantry rope and the fatter, rounded belt buckle. It has 8th Infantry BOS on the lapels ands well as what I think are 8th Infantry sterling DIs on the epaulettes. It also came with an interesting 8th Infantry emblazoned keychain.....pictures pelow (it sweems only three would fit. I'll post the rest in a follow-on. USMCRECON Posted September 28, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted September 28, 2007 Here's two more pics. Looks like it will take a third post to accomodate the key chain. Here's one of the DOs and major's rank insignia. Both are sterling.
USMCRECON Posted September 28, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted September 28, 2007 Finally, here's front and back of the 8th Inf key chain. The key chain seems to be a memento of some sort of event the 8th was involved in; Germany in 1954.
