M1912 Dismounted Holster

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the M1912 dismounted holster was ever used in great numbers in WWII? I think it's a cool looking holster (like the photo of Bogey in "Sahara").

The M1912 Holster was actually designed for mounted use. The M1916 is the "dismounted" holster, although I don't think it was ever called that. It's possible some mounted personnel in WWII had M1912 holsters, particularly those mounted on horses, but I've never seen any proof.
