teufelhunde.ret Posted August 27, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2007 Wow these are rare. In the period from 1876 to 1903 ... a total of 353 Marine Officer's served. That is the period when most of the EGA's were "jeweler made". The ones pictured here are not in my collection and are attributed to the collection of Mike Manifor

GLM Posted September 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2007 Mike, Is it possible to get a reverse image of your emblem that looks like this one? This emblem is in the collection of Kurt A of this forum. I find this pattern, which I believe to pre date SpanAm by a decade or more, to be one of the sexiest of all Marine emblems. s/f, Gary
usmcaviator Posted September 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2007 Gary, Here are pics of the one in my collection. I can post more detailed shots of the pin and catch if wanted. I concur with the date, probably late 1890-1900. I am still looking for photgraphic evidence of this piece, but it has eluded me so far. s/f Mike
