Commissar Posted March 12, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2011 well, I don't know much about the style of rank patches. I found about 30 of each kind in a box full of WWII stuff over the summer, but that's all I know, so, appropriately, I would appreciate it if someone could identify their respective military branches, etc. thanks

craig_pickrall Posted March 13, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2011 How wide is the OD on Red and the OD on Tan? The USMC chevrons are 3 1/2" wide and the Army chevrons are 3" wide during the WW2 period. The OD on Red isn't army but if it isn't 3 1/2" wide it isn't USMC either. It could be for ROTC, a military school, some civilian service such as security guards or many other things. I would like to see a close up of the OD on Tan as it looks like the weave pattern common to late 1930's and early WW2 chevrons.
