JerryK Posted January 3, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2007 Hello, Anyone have any ideas of how to rescue this document. I have the Purple Heart award document, letters to and from home, patches, pictures, wing, and other material. I would like to save this if I can. If no one has any ideas, any sugestions on trimming it to the good paper or framing it the way it is and hoping it doesn't deteriorate any more? Thanks for any suggestions. Regards, Jerry
Holloman Posted January 3, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 3, 2007 Plastic is a bit more reliable than framing, but avoid bending it. DO NOT trim the paper, a good restorer can do a full fix I bet.
BEAST Posted January 3, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 3, 2007 Contact a local museum for names of conservators. They probably can not make it look new, but the can stop (or at least slow down) the decay.
