On September 28 Lieutenant Swaab, although himself pursued by two enemy planes, perceiving one of his comrades in distress and in danger of being shot down, dived upon the enemy plane which was directly behind that of his comrade and shot the enemy plane out of control, forcing it to withdraw. His prompt act in going to the assistance of his comrade enabled the latter to escape. On October 27 Lieutenant Swaab and another member of his group engaged in combat with seven enemy planes. Dave Posted March 2, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 2, 2011 I do think that 30,000 Euros (roughly $41,500 today) as an estimate is fairly "optimistic"...I think I'd rather buy John McCain's medals for just a little bit more... SUPER cool group though!!! Cobrahistorian Posted March 3, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 3, 2011 Hmmm... you think he'd take a kidney in trade? Fighter pilot, double ace and Jewish?! That's like the dream addition to my collection. Only thing better would be if his tunic were included. Jon
Belleauwood Posted March 3, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 3, 2011 This group was offered to several folks a couple of years back. I think for $25, maybe $30K (I could be wrong), but I'm close. That if it sell for $41K, I would consider that to be a handsome profit. I'v seen the group, it's a killer!! DJ
