Here's another shot of the previous tab being worn by a father and son assigned to Company O 75th Infantry. The father was the supply sergeant and the son a member of one of the teams.

It may be generic in the sense it was worn by different units, but I'm pretty sure this was worn specifically by members of Company O 75th Infantry, the LRRP unit assigned to the 3rd Brigade 82nd Airborne Division in Vietnam. Here is a photo of the tab worn by members of the unit. I have spoken to the member who provided this picture and he confirmed these tabs were worn in 1968 when the LRRP Detachment was assigned to the brigade HHC and continued to be worn after Company O was formed and that the unit never wore the more common black and red scrolls worn by many of the 75th Infantry companies after February 1969.

Interesting.Thank you Sean

There is an error shown in post #733, last photo, second from top. The black, red and white scroll for Co G, 143rd Inf (Abn Ranger) is a fantasy piece made in Europe in "Ranger" scroll colors. They didn't even get the company designation correct.

Here is what the scroll should look like, as designed by SFC Gordon Rottman. The elaborate "HLG" in the left panel refers to "Houston Light Guard". Co G wore this scroll.

Firefighter, your tab in post #742 "Jungle Eaters" was worn by the 27th LCTF (Land Clearing Task Force) equipped with Rome-Plows. There several "home movies" taken by them on You Tube.

The 2nd Armored Div Ranger Company (Prov) rotated to Germany with the Div in 1951, but was inactivated shortly subsequent to arrival. Most of the men transferred to the 41st Amored Inf.

This is not an uncommon patch, you just need to look for it. Embr on wool.

Haven't posted anything Constab in awhile.....279th Constab Band was originally 5th Engr Regt Band pre-war; redesignated 279th Arrmy Band 1943 in the ETO; then 279th AGF Band May 44 (1st US Army) and then 279th Constab Band 17 June 46 and assigned to 15th Constab Regt. My NARA data sheets end at that point, but the 279th was probably redesignated 15th Constab Regt Band subsequent to that as all the Constab Regts had the bands, with one or two exceptions.

Here's the 6th Constab Regt Band....sorry, but it's hard to get a good image of his one. Believed to have originally been 6th Cav Regt Band, but data sheets missing. When I obtained it, it was in a huge grouping of 6th Constab Regt insignia.

"Jungle" tab awarded to graduates of the Jungle Operations Training Course (aka Jungle School) run by the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii. The tab is locally authorized to be worn by graduates of the course. It can only be worn while assigned to the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.

Here are two screenshots from a 1967 Army film showing a member of the 9th Infantry Division's LRRP unit Company E 50th Infantry. Beret with LRRP tab and gold on black AIRBORNE tab over a Long Range Patrol scroll and 9th Infantry Division SSI. All appear to be theater made.

The Army just created a new type of brigade, the Security Force Assistance Brigade, earlier this year. It looks like there will be six of them and the 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade was activated at Fort Benning in August. I can't find the SSI on The Institute of Heraldry website, but it looks like it is already being worn and that it has an "ADVISE-ASSIST" tab.

I believe this is a BERLIN tab being worn above the Seventh Army SSI by this Military Policeman in West Berlin. I would assume it is the same style and colors as the one worn with the Berlin Brigade SSI.

The soldier in the car looks to be wearing an armband with the Berlin BDE, some writing, & the American flag.
