dag Posted November 23, 2012 Share #232 Posted November 23, 2012 Was the "ALASKA" tab (yellow on blue) ever authorized to be worn over the AAF HQ patch, or only over the Alaskan Defense Command patch as shown in post #16 in this thread?
psywar04 Posted January 5, 2013 Share #233 Posted January 5, 2013 Hey I'm kind of new to this forum, but in post 56 what unit is that representing and is it a veteran grouping? I have heard of an armored unit attached to the 11th airborne for the invasion of Japan, but I thought they had a blue airborne tab. Thank you. Teamski Posted January 25, 2013 Share #234 Posted January 25, 2013 Captainofthe7th posted this photo in another thread definitively showing the 7th Recon tab worn with the 7th Infantry Division patch. It most likely was worn by the 7th Armored Reconnaissance Company. I also stole Mark's photo to show the tab itself. I love closed cases! -Ski

patches Posted March 30, 2013 Share #237 Posted March 30, 2013 At the request of member Teamski, I've been asked to add this photo I posted yesterday. An Okinawa Tab, this one described as Yellow on Blue, being worn above the Ryukyus Command by Corporal Jesus Rodriguez at a stateside (Believe Camp Roberts) Silver Star award ceremony. Rodriguez was an original member or the 29th Regimental Combat Team based on Okinawa, and with it was sent to Korea in late July 1950, the unit was destroyed, having survived the destruction of his 1st Battalion, he was transferred along with other survivors to form the basis of the 3rd Battalion 35th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. With Rodriguez wearing this patch and tab, it is assumed he was transferred over to Okinawa after he rotated out of Korea and served for however amount of time till he was finally sent stateside. seanmc1114 Posted April 3, 2013 Share #238 Posted April 3, 2013 Now that the Army is reflagging former combat units as training units, there are some interesting possibilities. Here is the 199th Infantry Brigade patch worn with an Airborne tab. The 199th is now the unit to which the Airborne school at Fort Benning is attached. Terry K. Posted April 3, 2013 Share #244 Posted April 3, 2013 I got this from a WW2 EM that became an officer with the Transportation Corps. Looks like it was taken off of a fatigue shirt as it seems to be starched. He was in WW2, Korea, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, and Germany.

patches Posted June 24, 2013 Share #248 Posted June 24, 2013 We see the Korea Tab being worn over the KMAG patch rather than the normal KMAG bottom tab by MOH winner John Pittman, I guess he wore this for lack of a KMAG tab. Isn't it funny, that today original korean war post korean war 1950s KMAG tabs are quite plentiful
