odiestreasures Posted February 7, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2011 Picked up a small bunch of stuff this past weekend that encluded a 1st gulf war helment and cover. The helment is complete and in good shape. The cover is faded and I don't want to try and take it off the helment as the strapes might tear. I'm completely out of my field on this one. Could someone give me an approxment value on this, and is there much interest on items like this?? Thanks in Advance Odell
Capt.Confederacy Posted February 7, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2011 I've seen brand new Desert Storm-dated covers go for a couple of bucks a piece. The helmets I've seen go for around $40-50. They might be less in some areas and more in others. Does the cover have any kind of writing that you tie it to a particular unit or person? If so, that might increase the value a bit. odiestreasures Posted February 7, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted February 7, 2011 No writting on outside of cover. I'm not going to try and take the cover off to see inside as I don't want to mess up connecting strapes. This one has the been there and done that look to it. Capt.Confederacy Posted February 8, 2011 Share #5 Posted February 8, 2011 If there's a chance of damaging the cover, then certainly don't mess with it. With no writing, I'm thinking $40-50.
